With an aim to set new benchmarks in the entry-level performance biking segment, Bajaj auto showcased their new age Pulsars at an event in Pune. Taking center stage were the adventure sport series Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 and 200, along with the fully faired RS 200. With their current line-up in the Pulsar range comprising of a naked, semi-faired and fully faired bikes, the manufacturer is looking to offer a customer the flexibility to pick from a sporty and stylish package that suits his taste and also packs class leading performance.
According to Mr Eric Vas, President – Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd, these new age Pulsars showcase the R&D prowess of the company, where constant innovation has ensured that the Pulsar range of motorcycles stay ahead of the competition in terms of performance, technology, styling and features. India’s No.1 sports bike for 14 years in a row, the Bajaj Pulsar range today sells more than 55,000 units in a month, with a leading market share of 43%. Mr Vas remains confident that these new range of bikes will add to those volumes and take the share closer to 50% or more.
About the Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 and 200, both motorcycles come with a projector headlamps nestled in a semi-faired environment, which is a first for the segment. Both motorcycles get an extended visor to combat wind blasts for comfortable long distance riding. The Pulsar Adventure Sport motorcycles also get a perimeter frame which is connected to the rear wheel via a monoshock at the rear. Powering the Pulsar AS 200 is 199.5 cc, triple spark, 4-valve, liquid cooled engine that makes 23.5 PS, while the smaller AS 150 gets a 149.5 cc, twin spark, 4-valve, air-cooled engine that transfers 17 PS to the rear wheel. Available in Red, Black and Blue, the Pulsar AS 200 has been priced at Rs 91,067, while the AS 150 can be yours for Rs 80,573 (Ex-showroom, Pune).
