Bajaj Auto announced its new brand product, the Dominar 400, on December 15, 2016. Following the launch, heavy online enquiries related to the Dominar 400 disrupted the Bajaj Auto website leading it to crash. The Bajaj Auto website also set new benchmark with 2.6 lakh website sessions on the first day itself.
Bajaj Auto also hosted a launch webcast, for patrons interested in experiencing the Dominar 400 launch event held in New Delhi. Despite failure of the leased lines which resulted in a delay of 40 minutes the Dominar 400 Launch webcast saw a whopping 1.2 lakh webcast views.

Bajaj Auto launched its most powerful motorcycle yet, the Dominar 400 at highly competitive prices. The standard model has been priced at INR 1.36 lakh while the ABS equipped variant comes at INR 1.50 lakh. The motorcycle draws power from a a 373cc triple spark four valve DTS-i engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. The engine, biggest in Bajaj’s product line-up till now, churns out 35 PS of power at 8000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. The motorcycle also features a full LED headlamp with Auto Headlamp On (AHO), optional twin channel ABS and a full digital instrument cluster.

Online bookings have commenced and customers can choose the dealer they would like delivery through. Customers can reserve their Dominar 400 though a centralized online booking with INR 9,000. Looking at the initial response, Bajaj plans to ramp up production to meet deliveries commencing January 2017.
