Auto Expo 2018: TVS To Showcase New Apache RTR 160, Graphite 150 And Electric Scooters

At the upcoming Auto Expo 2018, TVS will showcase a number of products which will soon head to the production line. A few of these models have already been spotted on multiple occasions. So what all does TVS have in store for us at the biennial event next month? Let’s find out:

2018 TVS Apache RTR 160:

TVS has been working on the next generation Apache RTR 160 which takes its styling cues from its elder sibling, the RTR 200. Test mules of the model have been spied in the past, hinting that the model could make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo.

Visually, the model will receive a design similar to the Apache 200, replete with the all digital instrument cluster and the LED tail light. A few noticeable changes include the brushed silver finished side panel, a single piece seat, a disc brake at the front end and new alloy wheels. Although unconfirmed, TVS is likely to increase the power output which currently stands at 15.2 bhp in order to outrun its rivals such as the Suzuki Gixxer and the Honda CB Hornet.

2018 TVS Graphite 150:

TVS Graphite Concept

The TVS Graphite, which made its debut back at the 2014 Auto Expo, was recently spotted during a public road test. Now, the model is likely to be showcased in the production form at the Auto Expo 2018 next month.

TVS has not officially revealed the engine specifications of the Graphite scooter although a recent video where a test mule of the model was captured on record doing speeds in excess of 100 kmph suggest that it could be powered by a 150cc motor. This engine could produce approximately 10-11 bhp and 11-12 Nm of torque.

The spy images revealed a few crucial details about the upcoming scooter such as the conventional telescopic forks and a disc brake setup at the front, fully digital instrument console, external fuel cap, apron mounted halogen headlamp and split grab rails. Once launched, the TVS Graphite 150 could rival the likes of the Aprilia SR 150. Expect the model to arrive with a price tag of approximately INR 60,000-70,000.

TVS Electric Scooters:

TVS has, along with its petrol powered products, also been working on a few electric scooters which could soon be launched in the Indian market. One such test mule wearing the body of the Jupiter was caught on camera hinting that the launch might not be far away.

Details remain scarce at the moment although the spy images suggested that the model could come equipped with alloy wheels and a drum brake setup. TVS could reveal the finer details during the 2018 Auto Expo. Stay tuned as we get you the live updates straight from the Expo in Delhi next month.
