Commercial vehicles and engines manufacturer, Scania Commercial Vehicles India Private Limited will launch two new flagship products, further expanding its offering of sustainable transport, at this year’s Auto Expo – The Motor Show at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR, between February 5 and 9.
Scania will showcase the R580 with the V8 engine – the most powerful on-road truck. The Scania R580 was certified by ARAI under a brand new category named ‘puller’. Scania India’s management team comprising Stefan Palskog, President, Scania India and Mikael Benje, Managing Director of Business Unit, Scania India, will formally launch the two new products, and highlight the company’s vision to deliver sustainable transport to the Indian Subcontinent.
Scania has a current production capacity of 2,500 trucks and 1,000 buses and aims to double its capacity by 2020 with a target of selling 5,000 trucks and 2,500 buses annually. In the next five years, Scania will also expand its employee pool to 1,200 people at this facility.
Auto Expo is the biggest platform in the country for vehicle manufacturers to display their products, and for B2B deals. Auto Expo is jointly organised by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
