Audi Q9 Revealed As Brand’s Biggest And Most Premium SUV Yet

Audi has taken the covers off its biggest SUV yet. Say hello to the Audi Q9, a brand new flagship that now sits above the Q7 in the company’s global lineup. It is the first Audi SUV to wear the Q9 badge and brings more space, more luxury and plenty of new technology. Built for buyers who want comfort for the whole family without giving up performance, the Q9 also becomes Audi’s second SUV with three rows of seats. It will take on rivals like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS in global markets.

Exterior gets fresh Audi styling

The Q9 carries a bold design that is different from the rest of the Audi SUV family. Some key highlights include:

One interesting feature is the Digital Matrix LED headlights. They can project warning symbols on the road whenever needed. The turn indicators can also project arrows on the ground during night driving to improve visibility for other road users.

From the side, the SUV looks clean and premium. Buyers can choose alloy wheels between 20 inch and 23 inch sizes. The bigger wheels also use acoustic foam inside the tyres to reduce road noise. Audi has also added automatic soft closing doors with obstacle detection.

At the rear, the Q9 gets curved digital OLED tail lamps connected by a full width light bar. The illuminated Audi logo sits in the middle, while the twin exhaust outlets and sharp body lines add a sporty touch.

The Audi Q9 comes with seven seats as standard. Buyers can also choose a six seat version with captain seats in the second row. Some cabin highlights include:

The Q9 also gets adaptive air suspension as standard. Drivers can raise or lower the suspension by up to 90 mm. Rear wheel steering also improves stability at higher speeds and makes city driving easier.

Audi has also revealed the sporty SQ9. It gets:

Power comes from a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine producing 591 hp and 800 Nm. Audi claims the SQ9 can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 kmph.
