After a long wait, much anticipation and several sightings of test mules on Indian roads, Toyota has finally launched the ninth generation Hilux in India. The lifestyle pickup made its global debut in November 2025 and has now reached Indian buyers with a fresh design, a more modern cabin and several new features. Prices start at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex showroom), and the pickup continues to take on the Isuzu V Cross. Bookings are now open and deliveries will begin from the second week of August.

Fresh Look With A Tougher Style
The new Hilux gets a completely new front design that gives it a stronger road presence. Slim LED headlamps, a large honeycomb grille and bold TOYOTA lettering replace the older front styling. The bumper is also new and gets LED fog lamps, black inserts and a silver skid plate.

Cabin Gets More Technology
The dashboard has been redesigned and now looks cleaner. Toyota has added two 12.3 inch screens, one for the digital instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system. Physical buttons for climate control and four wheel drive functions are still available, making them easier to use.

Engine And Drivetrain
Power comes from the familiar 2.8 litre four cylinder turbo diesel engine. It produces 204 hp and 500 Nm and is paired with a 6 speed automatic gearbox. Toyota has also introduced a 4×2 automatic option for the first time in India alongside the 4×4 versions. The pickup also gets electric power steering and revised suspension tuning.
