Audi India has launched the S5 Sportback in India. The performance oriented car has been priced at INR 62.95 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai and Delhi. The only sportback in its specific segment, the S5 is powered by a 3.0 liter supercharged TFSI engine with 333hp of power, 440 Nm of torque, and comes equipped with Quattro AWD as standard. Audi claims a 0-100 km/h time of 5.1 seconds with a rated standard fuel efficiency of 12.3 kmpl (should be much less in the real world).
The powerful and compact V6 TFSI engine is mated to S-tronic dual-clutch transmission, allows the S5 to reach its electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h with ease. Audi Drive Select allows the driver to choose from Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual modes and tweaks the steering transmission and suspension to suit the choice.
On the outside, the Audi S5 Sportback fuses elegance with aggression. Standout visual details include the radiator grille’s platinum grey insert with horizontal chrome struts, honeycomb grille in the air inlets with dual chrome trim and angular fog lights. Other highlights include the two-tone contrasting ORVM in aluminium-black finish. The Audi Singleframe grille on the S5 bears a S5 badge and a V6 T badging on the front fenders to make its pedigree clear to the onlookers.
On the inside, the S5 comes packed to the gills with equipment. Luxury oriented audience will be allured by the car’s advanced infotainment system. A high-end Bang & Olufsen Sound System, which comes as a standard, with ten channels amplifier, 14 speakers and 505 watts of output is almost the best audio unit you get out there. The system can play back DVDs in 5.1 Surround Sound. The MMI Navigation Plus with a 17.78 centimeter color monitor has 3D navigation mapping enabled.
The inlays on the dash come with a matt finish. The three spoke steering wheel is sportily flat bottomed, comes wrapped in leather and has shift paddles in aluminium look to underline its sporty character. The upholstery is done in Alcantara, with optional S sport seats in the front with S5 embossing.
Audi Parking System Plus with rear-view camera provides visual and acoustic assistance when parking and manoeuvring. The system gives the driver an acoustic warning of any obstacles and displays them on the central MMI.
