Audi Q5 has been quite successful for the German luxury brand in India. However, even in that high-price segment, people are looking at engine options which provide reasonable power and torque with good fuel efficiency. Moreover, it’s no secret that when it comes to big SUV’s nothing works better than a practical diesel mill. Audi India has realized the fact and have introduced a new version of their Q5 with a frugal 2.0 TDI variant.

The new engine delivers 170bhp of peak power and top torque of 350Nm at 1750 rpm. The engine is connected with a 7-speed S-Tronic Auto transmission to deliver all that power to the wheels.
The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI Quattro, thus is the most recent addition to the German brand’s Indian car lineup. The Q5 with the new engine is priced at Rs 39 lakh ex-showroom Maharashtra. Bookings are open, and deliveries will start from April. The Q5 will be assembled in India via the CKD route.

Apart from plonking in an economical engine, Audi has also taken out some features from this SUV to make it a more lucrative proposition for those who are on a budget (yeah, such people exist, and in good numbers). Luxuries that have been taken off include reverse camera assist, sunroof, Audi’s MMI interface, flappy pedal shifters and screens for the back benchers. The Audi Q5 is also available with a 2.0 TFSI petrol and the monstrous 3.0 TDI diesel.

The all new Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q, resonates higher efficiency and dynamic performance with its new engine and refreshed array of characteristics. This encouraging performance reinforces the increased aspiration for technical finesse and progressive sophistication among luxury automotive customers in India. Audi India will continue to expand its product line-up and deliver path-breaking and award winning cars to cater to this rising need” said Audi India Head Michael Perschke at the launch.
