We have been reporting in detail about the upcoming 2013 Skoda Octavia vRS performance sedan that will be unveiled this year. Skoda is betting big on the new Octavia and it is being said that the new Octy have what it takes to raise the bar in its segment. The performance variant of the 2013 Octavia will be the sportiest Octavia ever and today it has emerged that the new car will be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. The 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be held from 11th to 14th July.
It is being said that powering the new Octavia vRS will be a 2 Litre turbo petrol engine that will be borrowed from the Volkswagen Golf GTI. In Octavia, the new engine is expected to have a max output of 220 Bhp. There arer also good chances of a 2 Litre turbocharged diesel motor making it to the new vRS. The engines could me mated to 6 speed manual transmissions. Other than this, the new Octavia vRS is expected to come with a re-tuned suspension with better road manners to complement the increased engine power.
Visual changes include smoked headlamps, new front grille, new front bumper, daytime running lamps, low profile tyres, sporty alloy wheels, new rear bumper, a boot lid spoiler and twin exhausts. Safely expect the interiors to get an all black treatment.
Indian driving enthusiasts swear by the earlier generation Octavia vRS that was sold in India. We also got the Laura vRS which is basically a rebadged last gen Octavia vRS.
