It has long been known that the all new Honda CR-V is headed to Indian car market and recently, it emerged that the new Honda CR-V India launch will happen on 12th of this month.
The all new CR-V will take the mantle of being Honda India’s flagship product from the Accord sedan and will go on sale for a price tag of around INR 25 lakhs. The new CR-V, which is underpinned by an all new platform, will offer more space and features than its predecessor.
Power options for the new Honda CR-V will consist of two petrol engines- A 2.0-liter petrol motor for the entry level 2WD variants and a more powerful 2.4-liter motor with 4wd system for the flagship variant. The bigger engine will be available with an automatic transmission ONLY. There is currently no diesel engine on the cards and it will be interesting to see how well the new Honda premium SUV fares in a segment which is dominated by diesel powered vehicles.
The Honda CR-V will offer premium features like leather upholstery, a full quota of airbags, 6.1-inch entertainment system with navigation, sunroof, keyless entry, cruise control and one touch folding rear seats.
Honda India will also offer two exterior styling packages with the Honda CRV- A ‘Inspire’ kit which consists of a dash of chrome, scuff plates for the door sills and a tailgate spoiler. The ‘Elegance’ package gets only the chrome bits and misses out on the spoiler and the running board.
