Fiat will launch its hallowed, Abarth performance brand in India on the 4th of August 2015. Leading the siege will be the bonkers Abarth 595 Competizione, one of the world’s most acclaimed hot hatchbacks. Fiat will also reveal the upcoming Abarth Punto Evo and Avventura models on the aforementioned date.
Powered by a 1368cc four-cylinder turbocharged, T-Jet petrol engine, the Abarth 595 Competizione is a sincerely hotted up 500. Sting comes from 160PS of maximum power and 210 Nm of maximum torque. That’s enough to propel this 1155-kilogram hatch to sports car levels of performance. But if you are looking for even more spunk, there’s a ‘Sports Mode’ that will wind the maximum torque figure up to 231 Nm, thanks to some turbo geometry magic. Power is sent to the front wheels and reined in by a five-speed AMT gearbox
On the outside, the 595 adds Abarth badges, aggressive bumpers, graphite/gloss black finished door handles, wing mirrors & front grille, a rear spoiler and 17 inch alloy wheels wrapped with sticky Pirelli P Zero tyres. The pint sized terror (It is just 3657mm in length, 1627mm wide and 1485mm tall) will be sold as a CBU here, but the Abarth Punto Evo and Abarth Avventura will be manufactured at the Ranjangaon plant here in India.
