2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise Spotted; Features A Digital Secondary Display

A test mule of the 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 was recently spotted in India which revealed quite a few visual details about the upcoming cruiser motorcycle. Contrary to reports, the design doesn’t seem to be massively different from the existing Avenger range of motorcycles. But what’s different though, is that secondary, fuel tank mounted display which now appears to be a digital unit. The fuel tank mounted display could be identical to the unit found on the Bajaj Dominar 400.

Apart from the instrument console, rest of the motorcycle shares the same silhouette as the existing range. Other identical bits include similar design for the front fender, chrome housing for all the blinkers and pillion backrest with integrated grab rails. Stopping power is provided by a disc brake upfront and a drum unit at the rear. We’re not certain about the availability of ABS but the cruiser may get a single-channel unit.

Ergonomics don’t seem to be far different from the outgoing model either, and so does the engine. It’s still a carburetor unit with air- and oil-cooling. Expect the 220 cc single cylinder engine to continue to deliver 19.03 PS of power @ 8,400 rpm, and 17.5 Nm of torque @ 7,000 rpm and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

We shouldn’t have to wait for a long time to know more details as Bajaj has announced that it will be launching the new Discover range, and showcasing the MY2018 motorcycles on January 10, 2018. We expect to see the new Avenger range, along with the cosmetically updated Dominar 400 on the aforementioned date. So don’t forget to tune into Motoroids for all the latest updates.
