2015 ended with the recall of 101,597 units of the Chevrolet Beat Diesel over a clutch pedal issue. This year General Motors (GM) India is in news for the Beat again, this time a refreshing one. The car maker launched the refreshed version of the Chevrolet beat for 2016. The Beat happens to be the best selling model of GM India, and now with the pepped up version the folks hope to keep it that way.
After giving the Beat a facelift treatment a couple of years ago, GM India hasn’t really upgraded the Beat in the true sense. The car gets fancy touches on the exterior and interiors and then is promoted as the New Beat of the ongoing year. The 2016 ‘refresh’ treatment fairly remains the same.
The hatchback will retain the same silhouette. The new additions comprise of new dual-tone rear bumper and body-coloured door handles are offered across few other variants which sported black ones. The look is complemented with a newly designed spoiler with LED inserts. Inside the 2016 Chevrolet Beat the company has added silver highlights for the interiors on lower trims and a height adjustment feature for the driver’s seat. On the safety front, the driver side is equipped with an airbag and the top variant is fitted with ABS and EBD. The Beat gets a remote keyless entry with a foldable key. The Top trim of the Chevrolet Beat gets a new nomenclature like the premium offerings from the company, the top-end variant will drop the LT (O) and sport the LTZ badge.
Apart from the currently available colour options the 2016 Chevrolet Beat will roll out with two more colours, the company calls them ‘Pull-me-over Red’ and ‘Satin Steel Grey’. As there is no news on the updates of the engine therefore we can expect it to run with the same petrol and diesel configurations. The new Beat will bear a price tag between INR 4.28 lakh and INR 5.55 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
