Yesterday we reported about the refreshed Chevrolet Beat that will be launched in 2016, and today we received this teaser image (above) suggesting what General Motors / Chevrolet have in store for the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. We so wish the carmaker gets this version of the Beat for the Indian roads. Anyway, moving forward, General Motors (GM) India is all set to showcase a host of new products and concepts at India’s largest automotive fair, the 2016 Auto Expo. Chevrolet pavilion will be geared up with new-generation product line-up with new design DNA and two new concept vehicles for the Expo.
Chevrolet will display their recently-launched Trailblazer, the upgraded premium Cruze sedan and the upcoming MUV – Chevrolet Spin. The MUV is scheduled to launch in India in 2017. Along with the Indian product line-up, Chevrolet will also showcase their international showstoppers such as the Corvette and Camaro sports cars and the Chevrolet Colorado pick-up.
Chevrolet will also have interactive activities at their stall like the Passabilities and Colorado Co-driver. Passabilities is an initiative of the carmaker to make a difference, Chevrolet is rebuilding pitches, football equipment and is committed to provide an opportunity to the unprivileged. In association with the football giant Manchester United, Chevrolet has developed an interactive app for the AutoExpo. The app will allow visitors to don a Manchester United jersey and play a game of passing the ball to and from the team members. The participants will be provided a short film of themselves recorded while playing, to share with their friends. They will also have the chance to win a football signed by a visiting Manchester United legend Louis Saha.
Another activity called the Colorado Co-driver is an Oculus Rift Virtual Experience. The 7D experience will give visitors the opportunity to be the co-driver on a Chevrolet Colorado pickup enroute a mysterious road trip through the rugged terrain of New Zealand.
Kaher Kazem, President and Managing Director of GM India, said that visitors to the 2016 Auto Expo will see a completely new Chevrolet. The brand’s presence will be highlighted by new product reveals that will mirror the aspirations of Indian consumers. Their products will compete in the most vital segments of the vehicle market in India.
