Land Rover officially unveiled the 2015 model year Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs. A comprehensive suite of updates were given to Range Rover and Range Rover Sport for 2015 to reaffirm their status in the luxury and premium sporting SUVs segment.
Expressing his views on the launch of these two SUVs, Phil Popham, Group Marketing Director, Jaguar Land Rover said, “As the world’s best luxury and premium sporting SUVs, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have long offered an unrivalled combination of performance, luxury and off-road capability. These latest updates ensure both vehicles maintain their market-leading positions, with a special focus on performance, efficiency and increased personalisation options.”
The SDV8 engine now produces 332 bhp and 740Nm of torque which is a 40Nm increase which was achieved through detailed calibration changes. The company claims that this improves in-gear acceleration by up to 6.5% from fifth to eighth gear for effortless overtaking ability and enhanced towing capability. The 8-speed automatic gearbox has been re-engineered with a revised torque converter incorporating a twin-spring damper. Despite the increase in torque, the SDV8’s fuel economy and CO2 emissions remain unchanged at 32.5mpg and 229g/km CO2.
Fixed panoramic roofs with power blinds are now available. Meanwhile, for Range Rover, 19-inch alloy wheels with a Satin Dark Grey finish introduce an option for buyers wishing to use smaller wheels where conditions and surfaces may prove more challenging.
Starting August, UK customers will be able to order customisable Range Rover Autobiography Black Long Wheel Base, an response to Range Rover customers’ desire for more choice and exclusivity.
Land Rover InControl Remote and InControl Secure come as standard on Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. InControl Remote includes an integrated SOS Emergency Call, Optimised Land Rover Assistance and a Smartphone App which enables you to connect remotely with your vehicle wherever you are. InControl Secure tracks the vehicle should it be stolen. InControl Apps allows owners to sync smartphone apps to the vehicle’s touchscreen, and is compatible with Apple and Android smartphones.
The 2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will go on sale from July 16.
