The upcoming new generation 2014 Mercedes Benz S Class has been in news since some time now. Regulars here would know that we have been regular with reporting the developments related to the upcoming car and we recently posted teaser pics & video, leaked brochure images and the specs of the next gen S Class. Now, we have come to know a bit about the venue of the car’s launch event. The new Mercedes Benz S Class 2014 will be unveiled in Germany tomorrow (May 15). The unveiling will take place in Hamburg at the Airbus A380 delivery center.
The new luxury sedan has been codenamed as the W222 and is expected to up the ante in the luxury car market with its ultra-modern technology and gizmos, high luxury quotient and safety features that have never been heard of before.
Talking about tomorrow’s launch event, Joachim Schmidt, Member of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Sales & Marketing said,“The new S-Class is the epitome of a modern luxury sedan and Hamburg is the perfect place to showcase it to the world. The port of Hamburg is a symbol of Germany’s export strength and success of German products around the world. In addition, it has developed into the most important European hub for trade with China – the main market for the new S-class.”
Powering the 2014 S Class are a set of motors that have been borrowed from the last gen model. These engines have been re-tuned to offer higher performance and fuel economy and lower tail pipe emissions. The engines are expected to come mated to a new 9 speed automatic gearbox that benefits from terrain sensing technology.
