Here is some good piece of news for people who are planning to buy the new 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift this Diwali. We contacted Maruti dealers in Mumbai to enquire about the bookings status for the new 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift. Surprisingly, the dealers not only told us that the bookings have commenced, but also said that the vehicles have already been dispatched to the dealerships from the Indian car major.
The bookings for the Swift facelift can be made at Rs 10,000 while the on-road price in Mumbai is said to be about Rs 25,000 higher (as quoted by dealer) than the previous generation Swift. Deliveries would commence real soon. In fact, the dealer went to the extent of promising instant delivery for a white colored Swift. As we reported earlier today, Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift dealership demo cars, ready for dispatch, were spotted in company’s stockyard.
The new 2014 Swift will only be a cosmetic upgrade with additional features like automatic headlamps, daytime running lights, new front bumper, newly designed alloy wheels and reverse-parking sensors on the top-spec variant. On the inside, the new Swift receives addition of keyless entry, push-button start and a one-touch operation power-window for the driver.
As we have mentioned before, the new Swift will continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre-diesel engines that are found on the previous generation Swift. The K-series petrol unit makes 86 hp of power and 114 Nm of torque, while the diesel unit produces 75 hp of power and 190 Nm of torque.
