EICMA 2016: [VIDEO] Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled can bolt through deserts without breaking a sweat

We have seen crazy two-wheelers coming out of covers at the ongoing EICMA 2016. Coming straight from the desert and mountains to the Ducati Pavilion is the all new Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. The Italian marque says that the Scrambler Desert Sled is an enduro version inspired by the world of off-road motorcycles that made history in the United States during the 60s and 70s.

The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled gets its name from the 500cc+ modified motorcycles that were used in the Californian desert. These bikes were equipped with knobbly tyres, reinforced suspensions, spoked wheels and engine protection plates to protect the bike against the debris of impassable desert roads. The new Scrambler Desert Sled draws power from an L-Twin, Desmodromic distribution, 2 valves per cylinder, air cooled engine housed in a Tubular steel Trellis frame. The 803cc engine produces a peak torque of 75hp at 8,250 rpm and a max torque of 68 Nm at 5,750 rpm. The power is pushed to wheel via 6-Speed gearbox.

The front is assisted by a 46mm fully adjustable up-side-down forks and the rear gets pre-load and rebound adjustable Kayaba monoshock. The braking duties are taken care by 330 mm disc, radial 4-piston calliper with ABS as standard equipment in the front while the rear gets a 245 mm disc, 1-piston floating calliper with ABS as standard equipment. The Desert Sled rides with the new Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres with spoked wheels (19” front / 17” rear). The feature set on the bike includes:
