Offlate every other manufacturer seems to be launching special edition motorcycles or rather imparting aesthetic touch-ups to their existing lineup. From the recently launched Yamaha’s 2014 range of bikes to Triumph Motorcycles adding shaded attires to its popular models- it’s BMW Motorrad’s turn join the list.
The BMW R1200R “Darkwhite” special edition has been unveiled by BMW under a new colour scheme. Changes include light white paint treatment being added to the front mudguard, fairing, headlight cover, fuel tank extending all the way till the tail light cover. The spiral spoked wheels and the drive-train get a contrasting black shade. A matt black texture has been added to swingarm, rear axle, triangular wishbone and the anodized fork tubes. The frame however gets a different asphalt grey shade. A sports seat and a sports windshield conclude the list of enhancements.
The BMW R1200R DarkWhite continues to be powered by a boxer twin 1170cc liquid cooled engine producing 109 bhp and 115 nm of torque. Essentially a Roadster, the BMW R1200R also doubles up as a capable touring motorcycle with plenty of accessories to choose from.
BMW Motorrad has priced the BMW R1200R at € 13,000 in Germany that includes the VAT element.
