While it is no secret that S-Cross has failed to register the sales figures as expected by Maruti Suzuki, rarely some manufacturer has officially reduced the prices of a newly launched car. Earlier, it was reported that the S-Cross was being sold with discounts of upto INR 5 lakh, a new report by Team-BHP confirms that Maruti has infact slashed the prices to the tune of INR 2.05 lakh.
The S-Cross is sold with two engines- DDiS 200 and DDiS 320. The DDiS 200 variant has got a price drop of INR 40,000 to 60,000 and the DDiS 320 prices have been slashed by INR 2.05 lakh.
Powering the DDiS 200 is the 1.3 liter multijet diesel engine churning out 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. The DDiS 320 is powered by a 1.6 liter oil burner which churns out 118 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. While the 1.3 promises a claimed fuel efficiency of 23.65km/l, the 1.6 has a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.7km/l.
The S-Cross was launched in August last year and is sold through Maruti’s premium dealership network- NEXA. The upcoming models like Vitara Brezza and Ignis won’t be sold through NEXA.
