Just yesterday, we reported that TVS plans to launch the Akula 310 in India soon. Now, ahead of its reported launch that is likely to take place in July 2017, images of two completely undisguised units of the Akula 310 have surfaced on the web.
After making its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo as a concept, the model which featured a carbon fiber body will feature a production friendly paintjob, probably with a matte finish. As seen in the spy images that seem to have been taken at a TVS dealer yard or service center, two units of the fully faired motorcycle from the Indian bike maker are completely void of any camouflage.

While one unit of the Akula 310 features a shade of gloss blue, the second unit receives a paintjob of matte grey. The models are also equipped with a vertically designed fully digital instrument cluster as seen on the Akula concept. Also seen in the new front fascia that will house the dual projector headlamp setup as well as LED pilot lamps. The switch-gear on the right hand side misses out the headlamp switch indicating that the model will receive the Auto Headlamp On (AHO) feature as well. A few other highlights of the model include LED tail lamp, LED turn indicators, clip-on handlebar, USD front fork setup, mono shock suspension at the rear, split seat setup, alloy wheels, petal disc brakes and ABS.
Powering the Akula 310 will be the same 310cc single cylinder, liquid cooled motor as seen on the BMW G 310 R, a product that is being jointly developed by TVS and BMW Motorrad. This engine is said to produce 34 bhp and 28 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a six speed transmission. The Akula 310, likely to be christened as the TVS Apache RTR 310 upon launch, is expected to arrive with a price tag in the range of INR 1.5-1.8 lakh.
