Yezdi Forever! Yezdi Roadster Launched At ₹1.98 Lakh!

Yezdi Motorcycles have made a wild comeback into the Indian market. The brand has revealed three new bikes; Roadster, Scrambler, and Adventure. All these bikes offer something special and mark the brand’s comeback in the three major biking segments. While the Roadster is more suited for relaxed riders, Yezdi Adventure offers the extra oomph of an adventure tourer. The Scrambler sits somewhere in the middle of the two and offers a blend of a relaxed cruiser and a hardcore off-roader. Let’s take a look at the Yezdi Roadster; its features and specifications, and whether the bike is a worthy opponent for the class-leading Royal Enfield Classic 350.

In terms of design, Yezdi Roadster offers the retro-cruiser look that has adapted to modern times. The round headlamp bowl, teardrop fuel tank, and the long and straight dual exhausts flaunt the Yezdi design from the time of the Roadking. But one is not to be fooled by the old school character as the bike offers many modern elements. The LED headlight, an LCD instrument console, multi-spoke alloy wheels, and a dual-tone paint finish, all bring the bike up to speed with today’s time. The bike is offered in five colors and two schemes.

You can either opt for the Dark tone, wherein the engine, clutch cover, side panels, mirrors, and mudguards are all covered in black, or the chrome trim which gives the engine cover, mirrors, and exhausts a chrome finish, while the mudguards and side panels are body-colored. Yezdi is also offering many accessories with the bike such as a headlamp mesh and a larger windshield. The Roadster gets slightly raised handlebars and center set footpegs. This combination results in a commanding position for the rider, giving him all the control over the bike. It gets a single-piece seat, but even still the pillion seat looks decently sized. The pillion also gets a backrest for added comfort and safety.

Performance

The bike is powered by a 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with DOHC which puts out 29.7PS of power and 29Nm of torque. It is sprung on Telescopic forks and a gas-charged twin rear shock shocker with preload adjustment. The braking duties are performed by a 320mm Brake disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. It has a ground clearance of 175mm which is more than adequate for Indian roads. The Roadster rides on all-weather tubeless tires; 18-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear.
