The Ray Z automatic scooter isn’t the only vehicle that Yamaha has launched in Goa today. Also launched is a new variant of the not-very-famous but very well sorted out Yamaha SZ 150cc motorcycle at INR 62,500/- (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new variant of Yamaha SZ 150cc execommuter has been christened as the SZ RR and comes with, hold your breath, a new set of decals (what else?). The SZ series of bikes from Yamaha are powered by a 153cc, air-cooled, SOHC, single cylinder engine that makes a peak power of 12.1 PS.
After the R15 and the FZ series of motorcycles, the SZ was Yamaha’s ambitious offering to garner its targeted market share in the executive commuter segment. Powered by the similar 153cc FZ16 engine albeit in a state of detune, the SZ saw reasonable sales but not to Yamaha’s expectations. The SZ-RR is a re-attempt at fulfilling Yamaha’s objectives for the targeted segment.
