Yamaha India to launch FZ1 in December

Yamaha Motor India is planning to import its FZ1 motorcycle to India in December. The company plans to bring the bike to India via the semi-knocked down kits route so as to save the exorbitant duty on the CBUs. The FZ1 is essentially as street bike with a relatively relaxed handlebar and foot-peg position, is suited for a wide variety of biking activities and not just restricted to the racetrack.

The FZ1 will have the Honda CB1000R as its closest competitor. The CB1000R is currently the cheapest litre class bike on sale in India, and Yamaha would want to undercut it. The new bike will come as a great option for Yamaha performance lovers who want a useable motorcycle which also comes at a relatively reasonable price. Expect a price tag of slightly less than Rs 8 lakh ex-Delhi.
