Yamaha Fazer 250 India Launch May Happen On August 21

India Yamaha Motor has sent out invites for an event which is said to ‘unfold a brand new chapter on its journey in India’. The two-wheeler brand has remained tight-lipped about any further details although we expect to see the unveiling and launch of the Yamaha Fazer 250, the quarter-litre motorcycle that was recently seen in showroom ready form. A recent walkaround video captured the motorcycle in finer details.

The quarter-litre model will be based on the new Yamaha FZ25. It will will drop the dual headlight setup for an LED illuminator. Wing style LED pilot lamps sit near the lower part of the LED headlight while faux vents occupy t surrounding region. The quarter-litre motorcycle receives a full fairing which should offer decent protection from windblasts and enhance comfort during long rides.

Mechanically, the specification are not likely to change from the FZ25 either although the added weight from the fairing will marginally affect the power-to-weight ratio. Propelling duties would be provided by the same single cylinder 249cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, fuel injected motor tuned to deliver 20.9 PS @ 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm of peak torque @ 6,000 rpm. The engine would come mated to a five-speed transmission.

We’d be bringing you all the LIVE updates from the event. Stay tuned.
