The German luxury car manufacturer trio, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are on a run to outclass each other in sales, in India. As a part of this, Mercedes-Benz India Limited has built a helipad in its facility premises, in Chakan near Pune. This helipad will be used to fly-in potential AMG customers, from Mumbai to the facility to check out the AMG range. Although common in developed countries like USA, this is a first of its kind experience in the Indian automotive scene.
Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz launched the new SLK55 AMG in India, at a sticker price of Rs. 1.259 Crores ( Ex-Showroom New Delhi). The car is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.5 liter AMG V8 engine, which produces 421 HP and 540 Nm of torque.
On the launch occasion of the new SLK55 AMG, where this announcement was made, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said: “The SLK 55 AMG packs sportiness and performance driving which are associated with the Mercedes-Benz and AMG brands.
