Volvo to Launch a Mini Rival

Popular car and CV maker Volvo is getting increasingly aggressive in the car market. After having launched a batch of new cars to trouble the German rivals, the Swedish auto maker now plans to develop and launch a new car that will be a direct opponent of the Mini. The development process of this car will begin as soon as Volvo finds a partner for this ambitious project. As per europe.autonews.com, the smallest Volvo car ever might be co-developed with Chinese car maker Zhejiang Geely. It may be noted that Geely currently enjoys a majority stake at Volvo. Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby has said that buyers of premium cars are warming up to the idea of a subcompact model and Volvo wishes to take advantage of this trend. The only hatchback Volvo currently offers is the recently launched V40 which is a shoe size larger than the upcoming Volvo small car.
