The Volkswagen Vento for India is the new ‘Polo Sedan’ for Philippines!

Launched by Automobile Central Enterprise Inc. (ACEI), VW’s Philippines distributor, the new Polo Sedan goes on sale in the island country for 950,000 Philippines Pesos (approx INR 13.2 lakhs). With this, the Volkswagen Polo Sedan becomes the most affordable product in VW’s line up of models for the car market of Philippines.

The new Volkswagen Polo Sedan is available only in the top-of-the-line Highline variant in Philippines. Also, the car is available with just one engine option- 1.6 litre TDI diesel. This motor has a max power of 105 PS and peak torque of 250 Nm, and comes mated to a five speed manual transmission.

Standard features available on the new Volkswagen Polo Sedan include- 15 inch mag wheels, ABS, dual-front airbags, four speakers and a music system with a single CD player, USB and AUX-in support. While the India-spec Vento Hihgline comes with a factory fitted auto aircon unit, the Polo Sedan for Philippines gets only a manual deal.

Speaking on the launch of the new Volkswagen Polo sedan, JP Orbeta, president of ACEI, said,”Volkswagen has always been known as the People’s Car, and now with the introduction of the Polo Notch, the possibilities of owning a fine German car with the latest in technological advancements become more attainable for the Filipino.”

While Volkswagen India is yet to confirm, we won’t be too surprised to learn that the Volkswagen Polo Sedan that has been launched in Philippines is being exported from India and is being manufactured at the Chakan facility, alongside the India spec model.
