Volkswagen India has launched the much awaited, and the first true-blue performance hatch for India – the Polo GTI. The hot hatch has been priced at INR 25.99 lakh ex-Delhi and INR 25.65 lakh ex-Mumbai. The Volkswagen Polo GTI is introduced as a Limited Edition and only 99 examples of the model will be sold in India, at least to start with.
The Polo GTI comes equipped with a 1.8L 4-cylinder TSI engine mated with a 7-speed automatic DSG transmission with peak power rated at a scorching 192 PS. Peak torque is rated at a high 250 NM between a low and wide band of 1250-5300 rpm. The top speed of the car is 233 km/h and it’s claimed to hit 100 km/h from a standstill in 7.2 seconds flat.
While the car has been launched, not everyone would be lucky enough to get a test drive. Volkswagen will curate a unique test drive experience only for a select and lucky few petrol heads. You can visit Volkswagen’s India website to figure how to win that coveted test drive.

The Volkswagen Polo GTI will be available for bookings at select Volkswagen showrooms across India. With the introduction of GTI, Volkswagen aims to bolster its image in India as a maker of premium, performance machines.
