Making news again is the Yamaha M-Slaz 150 which was tested by the blokes at Me Hay Superbike to its limit. These Guys took the 150cc streetfighter to a straight empty stretch of road and clocked a top speed of 140kph. The Slaz takes around 12 seconds to reach the 100 mark and then reaching 140 kph takes a while but it is an impressive feat by the 150cc bike. The model used for this test is said to be the standard model that draws power from a 4-stroke single cylinder SOHC 4-valve water cooled engine. The 149cc engine is strapped with a 6-speed gearbox and makes 16.7 Bhp at 8,500 rpm and a torque of 15 Nm trickles in at 7,500rpm.

Watching the 15minute test is quite entertaining, but not a good choice to test a bike on city roads. Having said that, the test was done by professional riders. These guys have been testing bikes to their limits for a while now, but for you guys the warning still remains – Don’t try this at home, outside, on the highways or any public place for that matter! Here is the video by Me Hay Superbike showing the Yamaha M-Slaz 150 in action!

  1. R15 engined bike without fairing can definitely do this, no wonders … I did 143 on R15 and 135 on Fazer (Motul 7100 20w50 FS to be credited)
