Rajesh Yadav Toyota Innova Andheri Station

VIDEO: Sleep-deprived driver parks Toyota Innova on Andheri railway station during peak hours

Sleep deprived driving can often lead to fatal accidents, but sometimes it can lead top bizarre incidents like this. Yesterday (27/11/2016), around 3:30 pm, a man drove a Toyota Innova on to a railway station in Mumbai, thinking it was a parking spot.

The poor guy must have been driving till he couldn’t keep his open, and by the time he reached the chaotic by-lanes of Andheri, he had had enough. He was looking for a spot to park, and Mumbai isn’t particularly generous with those.

Upon seeing a ramp, his sleep deprived brain tricked  him into thinking that it led to a level of a multi-car park. Unfortunately for him, the ramp, built to be used by disabled/handicapped people and NOT vehicles, led him directly to platform number 6 of Andheri station.

He landed his 7-seat MPV onto Andheri station, which, at that time was teeming with people. Curious onlookers gathered around the vehicle, and directed him towards the exit. But he had already become a security threat, so before exiting, he was apprehended by the Andheri Railway Police Force and was then arrested.

The driver, identified as Mr Rajesh Yadav, works for Gammon India has been booked under the following sections, 154 (Endangering safety of persons travelling by railway), 145 (nuisance)and 147 (trespassing into railway territory) of the Railway Act of 1989. The Toyota Innova in question has also been seized.
