Launched today, the next gen Hyundai Verna has been priced pretty aggressively at a starting point of INR 7.9 lakh. It packs many new segment-first features like ventilated front seats, a sliding front centre console armrest, a smart trunk that automatically unlocks and pops-out when the owner stands with-in 1 metre behind the vehicle with the smart key for more than 3 seconds, and Impact sensing auto door unlock. Powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines, the next gen Hyundai Verna can be had either with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission with as many ratios.
The next gen Hyundai Verna is developed with 50% of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), an additional 37% increase over the previous generation model. This not only increases the stiffness of the chassis to make it a better driver’s car but also protects passengers effectively in case of a collision. Door pillars have been hot stamped to enhance protection in the case of a side collision and all variants boast of ABS, EBD and twin Airbags as standard, where the top-of-the-line variants get 6 impact sensing balloons. Ride and Handling characteristics have been improved by employing McPherson Struts up front and a Coupled Torsion Beam Axle with Vertical Shock Absorbers along with Hydraulic Rebound Stoppers at the back.
Infotainment needs are taken care by a 7″ IPS touchscreen which is Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Mirror Link compatible. It allows seamless integration of app based navigation, audio, voice controlled search capabilities and smartphone applications. The next gen Hyundai Verna comes with 6 speakers along with a SMART SURROUND SYSTEM by ‘Arkamys’. An Electric Sunroof adds to the luxury quotient on the SX Diesel Automatic variant.
