Mercedes is all set to launch its updated 2018 S-Class cabriolet at the 2017 International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt which is ready to open its gates next month. Following the introduction of the redesigned sedan versions of the S-Class at the Shanghai auto show earlier in the year, Mercedes has provided us with a short video teaser for its upcoming offering, the S-Class cabriolet.

The teaser gives us a sneak-peek at the convertible and provides us with subtle hints on the minor design changes that have taken place for the S-class cabriolet. The headlights and taillights have been mildly updated, with the headlights having been given detailed internals and taillights consisting of an elongated dotted pattern. The front and rear bumpers have also been retouched and stylized a bit along with the front grille. Also in the teaser, we watch the S-Class cabriolet swiftly bring down its soft-top, only to reveal its plush white leather interior.

The cabriolet is going to be integrated with the new iteration of Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive suite of assistance systems which shall be inclusive of Active Steer System, Active Proximity Assist, Active Lane Change Assist and Remote parking Assist function. The biggest drop-top model will also be equipped with Energizing Comfort System which is said create various “moods” which shall provide a great deal of boost in comfort for its passengers for a short period of time.

Facts are still unclear on what type of power source the S-Class cabriolet maybe getting, but it is speculated that it may be fitted with one of the updated powertrains that were introduced for the new S-Class sedans, which included a newly developed M256 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six cylinder petrol engine.
