Regular Motoroids reader Toldi has sent us a video clip showing a lightly camouflaged upcoming 2015 Mercedes CLS63 AMG, which has been caught testing in Stuttgart, Mercedes’ home town.
2015 Mercedes CLS63 AMG video:
The second generation CLS was launched as a 2012 model and hence, is close to getting a mid-cycle facelift, which is expected to endow the car with a with an updated front end and more features. The nip and tuck job should see the car getting an updated front fascia that would include a new grille new headlights and a revised front bumper. All this should help the car look fresh, until the advent of the all new model in 2016-end.
On the inside, the car is likely to get a host of features coming from the new generation S-Class. CLICK HERE for our comprehensive Mercedes S Class Review.
The list of equipment and features could see the addition of mbrace2 infotainment system, MAGIC BODY CONTROL, new DISTRONIC PLUS cruise control with Steering Assist, Cross-Traffic Assist, and Pre-Safe brake assist with pedestrian recognition.
The CLS550 could get the new twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V-8, which has a max power of 455 horsepower for the S Class. CLICK HERE for our comprehensive Mercedes S Class Review
The car could also continue being powered by the current 402-horsepower engine. The CLS63 AMG, that you see here in these pics and video, will not get any major technical updates. Even the new Mercedes 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission, which will be seen in all CLS variants, will be given a skip for the CLS63 AMG. The 9G-TRONIC should bestow the car with more refinement and slightly better fuel efficiency.
The 2015 Mercedes CLS63 AMG is likely to be unveiled in the last quarter of this year.
