Suzuki showcased its iV-4 concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Little did we know that the new five door car, based on the iV-4 concept platform, will mark the return of the famous badge first used by Suzuki more than 25 years ago, the Vitara. Japanese car maker plans to revive the Vitara, 16 years after it rolled off the last car from the production line.
The Vitata will compete in the compact SUV space which is grabbing a lot of attention these days. Although the base model will come with a front wheel drive, you can get yourself a four-wheel-drive, AllGrip system by shelling out some extra money.
At the heart of the Vitara is likely to be a 1.6-litre petrol and diesel unit which is also found in the SX4 S-Cross. The Vitara will hit the showrooms in UK next spring and the company will provide personalising choices with this compact SUV with various colours and trim customisation options. Suzuki said in a press release that the ‘Vitara will have a striking road presence with distinctive design.’
Suzuki will reveal all the details at the Paris Motor Show on Thursday, October 2.
