Video: 2012 Mercedes C-class unveiled, with all the details

Mercedes-Benz have unveiled their 2012 C-class in an official video. The video, which has apparently ‘leaked’ before the car’s debut at the North American Motor Show in Detroit provide most details about the changed made to the car. The new car is designed with a goal to be a leader in the entry-level luxury market. The new model has a new front fascia, an aluminum hood, and restyled headlights. At the rear the changes comprise of a revised bumper and LED tail lights.

The major changes, however, can be seen within the cabin. The interior is now a complete emulation of the E-class. Notable changes include a new dashboard, a revised steering wheel, new controls, and a redesigned instrument cluster. Materials such as aluminium and wodd have been used generously to make the interior look more interesting.

The new C-class is also quite a tech-fest. There are five new driver assist programs – Attention Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Park Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Assist. The COMAND control system has also been updated and made more intuitive.

Engine options, for US market include a turbocharged 1.8-liter petrol with 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque. Then there is the C350 with its new 3.5-liter V6 churning out 306 PS and 370 Nm of torque.
