An upgraded Yamaha Fazer will be launched very soon in India. It will possess feature additions on the lines of the recently launched Yamaha FZ V2.0 and FZ-S V2.0.
The Yamaha Fazer has co-existed with the FZ series of bikes. While being largely based on the FZ series, the addition of a smart-looking fairing projected it as a touring option. The wide rear radial, and the comfortable riding as well as handlebar positions helped in those matters too. As the Japanese company has handed over an upgrade to the FZ and FZ-S, a similar upgrade awaits the Fazer. So, will the upgraded Yamaha Fazer be christened as the Fazer 2.0?
Industry whispers suggest that the comapny is adding final touches to the upgraded Yamaha Fazer. Very soon, it will be reaching the dealerships. The added feature list will include :
- A redesigned front fairing
- Menacing looking front with newer headlamp units
- Changes to the body panels and tail cowl in accordance with the FZ V2.0 and the FZ-S V2.0
- Newer colour options
- Reworked graphics and decals
- A new fuel, injected engine
- Yamaha’s proprietary BLUE CORE technology to increase fuel-efficiency

The upgraded Yamaha Fazer will be at the echelon of the pricing hierarchy of all the FZ-related series of bikes in India. This includes the FZ, FZ-S, Fazer, FZ V2.0 and the FZ-S V2.0 as well. Phew…that was a long list!! While the Fazer was pricier than the FZ and the FZ-S, the upgraded Yamaha Fazer will be more expensive than the old Fazer. This is because of the additions of a fuel-injected engine, and the BLUE CORE technology.
At the moment, we don’t have an inkling if the old Fazer will continue to be sold alongside the upgraded Yamaha Fazer. Most probably, it will do so akin to the older FZ and FZ-S still seeing the light of the day.
