Regulars here would know that we have been reporting about an automatic scooter from TVS that might soon be launched to rival the Honda Activa and the likes. This scooter, which has been spotted testing on quite a few occasions, has been doing rounds of South India in a Zebra-like camouflage and it is being said that the scooter might be based on the TVS Wego.
The Wego automatic scooter has always been liked by us and the possibility of TVS readying a new variant of the Wego, with a more male specific design, isn’t too farfetched.
The upcoming TVS vehicle is likely to come with a drum brakes setup and will sport alloy wheels. There are good chances that the wheels would measure 12 inches in diameter. It isn’t yet clear if the front suspension will consist of telescopic shock absorbers.
One of the most talked about feature of the scooter could be the positioning of the fuel filler cap, which can be seem located right above the taillamp.
As can be seen in the pics, the instrument cluster of the upcoming scooter is pretty ordinary and is similar to that of most scooters in 100-125cc scooter segment. Unlike the Rodeo, the upcoming TVS auto scooter doesn’t sport a digital speedo. However, as is the norm these days, the scooter does sport a shutter type key lock mechanism.
There are some chances that the upcoming scooter would come with a 125-135cc engine. It would be interesting to see if TVS Motors, which is a scooter specialist, would be able to give sleepless nights to the boffins at Honda Scooters and Motorcycles India.
