Upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Teased

The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 was recently spotted undisguised abroad and now, Royal Enfield has officially teased it. Going by the teaser, the motorcycle is expected to launch later this year and it will bring a host of updates over the Himalayan 411. When launched, the Himlayan 450 will go up against the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and the Yezdi Adventure. Let’s take a look at what the teaser reveals:

The teaser says “testing 1,2,3” which indicates that the motorcycle is being thoroughly tested by Royal Enfield. The teaser also gives us a first look at the front of the Himalayan 450. It gets a circular LED headlamp which is a first for any Royal Enfield. The turn indicators seem to be new as well and they could LED units. Based on the previous spy shot, other expected elements are an upside-down fork at the front, a mono-shock at the rear, and 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The mono-shock of the Himalayan 450 is longer than the Himalayan 411 and it also adds-on to the longer seats than the previous one. Other than this, the radiator will be placed on the cylinder head.

The fuel tank of Himalayan 450 is rather large and will be of a higher capacity when compared to its sibling. Compared with the 411, the Himlayan 450 also gets a stubbier exhaust end can and the tail design is also quite different. It will also come with a vertically placed instrument cluster. However, the overall design of the Himalayan 450 will be similar to that of the Himalayan 411. The Himalayan 450 is expected to be equipped with features like dual-channel ABS, LED lighting all around, and a digital instrument cluster. In terms of engine, the Himalayan 450 will be powered by a 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which is a first for any Royal Enfield. We expect the power and torque figures to be close to its rivals like the KTM Adventure 390. The Himalayan 450 will be positioned above the Himalayan 411 and other than the expected feature set, we expect Royal Enfield to offer more differentiating features as well such as a more powerful motor and more off-road capabilities.
