Upcoming Honda Activa To Get The ‘Premium’ Tag

Honda India recently released a set of teasers that gave a hint at an updated version of the Activa scooter which would most likely be called the Activa 7G. However, a new teaser debunks this theory and reveals that this new model will be called the Activa Premium. The Activa Premium will be based on the current Activa 6G and will feature cosmetic changes. Let’s take a look at what we can expect:

The teaser of the silhouette indicates that the Activa premium is based on the current Activa 6G. It also shows the new ‘Premium’ lettering below the Activa badge. The first teaser showed the front of the scooter with headlights and a Honda logo above it; while the second one showed Gold elements and a wider view of the front when compared to the previous teaser. The brand claims that this new scooter will ‘elevate your style statement and be the eye-catcher on the road’. The new Activa Premium will feature a new color scheme as well since the previous teaser showed us a Matte Green color. Honda could add features like Bluetooth, fully digital instrumentation with SMS, and call alerts since the majority of the competition offer these features. Honda could also go a step further and include a front disc brake and alloy wheels.

The scooter will get its power from the same engine as the 6G which is Honda’s 110cc PGM-FI HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine with a unique Honda ACG starter for a Silent Start. The engine produces 7.68 bhp and 8.79 nm of torque. Since this is not a generation change, the engine is more or less likely to remain unchanged. Though the company has not yet shared any more details about the new scooter, we expect more teasers soon. The Activa 6G comes with a starting price of ₹72,400 for the standard variant which ranges to ₹74,400 (ex. showroom) for the Deluxe variant. For the new Premium variant, we can expect a few thousand added to the current price. Once launched, the Activa Premium will compete with its rivals like the TVS Jupiter. Expect the Activa Premium to launch in the coming days.
