As we’ve been saying, Indian performance bike segment is fast heating up and we have some really exciting bikes that are headed to us. While we’ve been regular with reporting about most of such bikes coming our way, here is a small recap of sorts that gives you important details of six really exciting upcoming bikes in India.

Hero HX250R

  • Expected launch date- October 2014
  • Expected price- INR 1.6 lakhs
  • Engine- 250cc
  • Power- 31 PS

And the wait for the most powerful Hero MotoCorp product is about to come to an end! Come festive season and Hero should be ready with its next big thing for our bike market. With a 250 cc engine that churns out a really healthy power of 31 PS, this upcoming bike could very well become the most successful model in its segment. As always, Hero is expected to offer best-in-industry after sales experience and quality parts, and would price this bike at approx. INR 1.6 lakhs. Hero HX250R’s sporty looks should appeal to the ‘fairing hungry’ crowd out there and the upcoming bike is expected to be a huge success in the Indian market.

Hyosung GD250N

  • Expected launch date- April 2014
  • Expected price- INR 1.7 lakhs
  • Engine- 250 cc
  • Power- 28 bhp

The Hyosung GD250N could become the next big thing from the Indian subsidiary of this Korean bike maker and the bike’s launch is due next month. Equipped with a 250 cc engine, this bike will be seen rivalling some already established models. The bike’s smart and sassy looks could very well make it a hot favourite among the youth. Expected to be priced around the INR 1.7 lakhs mark, this bike will become the first real challenger to the Duke 200 in the naked street motorcycle segment.

KTM RC390

  • Expected launch date- June 2014
  • Expected price- INR 2.2 lakhs
  • Engine- 375 cc
  • Power- 45 bhp

KTM RC390 is one of the three upcoming bikes that Bajaj intends to soon launch in our country. Expected to be priced at INR 2.2 lakhs, the bike would become the most powerful and sporty motorcycle in its segment. Its powerful 375 cc engine, along with the sporty styling, should make the KTM RC390 one of the most sought after bikes of recent times. Expected to be launched in June this year, Bajaj KTM RC390 has managed to create enough buzz in the market even before its launch! With the launch of the upcoming motorcycle, Bajaj will once again prove that it is capable of producing world-class products at its Indian manufacturing facilities.

Yamaha R25

  • Expected launch date- 2015
  • Engine- 250 cc
  • Expected Price- INR 1.9 Lakhs
  • Expected Power- 35 PS

Tentatively expected to be launched sometime next year, the Yamaha R25, with its high performance engine and M1-like styling, should become the most sought after bike for the performance crazy. Yamaha R25 Concept, which was showed at the Auto Expo 2014, has already proven to be a teaser of sorts for Indian sportsbike lovers, and the Yamaha R25 launch in India is eagerly awaited by all of us.

Bajaj Pulsar SS 200

  • Expected launch date- April 2014
  • Expected price- INR 1.20 lakhs
  • Engine- 200 cc
  • Power- 25 PS

The much-awaited Bajaj Pulsar is expected to be launched around the beginning of next financial year. Expected to be decently priced at 1.20 lakhs, the Pulsar SS 200 will be powered by a fuel injected 200 cc engine that will pump out a power of 25 PS. With decent performance and looks that are based on that of the SS 400 concept, the upcoming 200 cc variant in Pulsar line up can very well become the next big thing from BAL. Pulsar SS 200 is easily the most eagerly awaited entry level performance bike this season.

KTM RC200

  • Expected launch date- June 2014
  • Expected Price- 1,40,000-1,55,000
  • Engine- 200 cc
  • Power- 26 PS

KTM RC200 is expected to hit the Indian roads along with the bigger RC390 in June 2014. Expected to be priced at around INR 1,40,000 mark, the KTM RC200 will become the most powerful 200 cc bike in the country. This bike’s sporty ergonomics, combined with looks that reek of sportiness, should make it distinctly more desirable than its naked sibling.

  1. Good chances it will b a locally manufactured model.plus. .India might get a single cylinder engine to keep prices low

  2. The R25 is a twin cylinder machine, impossible to price it at Rs. 1.9 lakh unless its manufactured completely in India. I honestly don’t think Yamaha will bring the R25 to India, a CKD assembled R25 will breach the 3 lakh price tag comfortably. Yamaha instead might bring a single cylinder 300cc to India; in terms of pricing that will make a lot of sense.

  3. Yatharth, Can we expect R25 for 1.9L even if comes like CKD? (I heard the news like R25 will be only assembled here and price will be close to 3.5L).correct me if I am wrong
