Upcoming 2016 Range Rover Evoque XL Spied in India

Land Rover launched the 9-speed automatic equipped Range Rover Evoque in the Indian market in February this year. Now, a test mule of the 2016 Range Rover Evoque XL has been caught on tape in Bangalore. The car was spotted at Harman International’s engineering centre in Bangalore.

Land Rover has developed the Range Rover XL for markets like India and China where most of the high end SUV’s and sedans are chauffeur driven. Rear leg space and comfort are major deciding factors in such markets. With the longer wheelbase, the company can tweak the Evoque’s seats for extra comfort.

Unlike the regular Evoque, the Evoque XL ride on JLR’s iQ platform. The iQ platform makes heavy use of aluminium for its construction, making the car light while ensuring strength at the same time. The Evoque will not only ride on a different platform, but will also get the new Ingenium range of 4 cylinder turbo petrol and turbo diesel engines under its hood. The Ingenium range will first feature on the Jaguar XE which will be unveiled next month.
