We have been reporting in detail about the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. Now, the good folks at MotorVikatan have managed to click the upcoming SUV from the Korean car maker. Hyundai will be launching the car in Indiaa next month. (Click here to read about all 40 odd cars that are headed to us this year)
The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe rides on an entirely new platform and the car is larger than the car than its predecessor. Speaking about the dimensions, the car is 40 mm longer and 5 mm wider, although the roofline is 45 mm lower. Wheelbase remains the same at 2,700 mm wheelbase.
Internationally, the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe is available with two petrol engine options. These include a 2 liter turbo and a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated motor. The Indian model will come with a 2.2 liter diesel engine from the current model and will be equipped with a VGT (variable-geometry turbo).
The power and torque figures remain unchanged at 194 bhp and 44.45 kgm respectively. The engine has been through minor upgrades with Piezo injectors for better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The engine will be connected to six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmissions, with the on-demand four-wheel-drive system available as standard.
The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe features the car maker’s Storm Edge design language. The Storm Edge design language is the new one from the Korean auto giant after the Fluidic designs. Speaking of the interiors, the car will feature a very stylish dashboard design and rich materials can be found in plenty, and the car will come loaded to the brim with bells n whistles.
