United Motorcycles India recently launched 25 dealerships across the country. The brand has been on the hype for quite some time now with people going to the extent of walking into our office and asking for details. The U.S. based motorcycle manufacturer has now received over 1000 bookings for its model range in India.
Sources suggest that test rides for the Renegade and the Sport-S models, which were launched in India at the 2016 Auto Expo held in February this year, will stand to begin from this month or possibly in May. Deliveries for the first lot of motorcycles, said to be 500 units, will take place in the month of June while the second lot of 500 bikes will be delivered in the month of July.
Dealerships are said to come into operational mode towards the end of April or the beginning of May. Potential customers wanting to take a test drive of the motorcycles will have to register on the website of the Indian arm of UM Motorcycles. The bikes were earlier showcased at the 2016 edition of India Bike Week (IBW) held in Goa earlier this year.
While the Renegade Sports S is priced at 1.49 lakhs, the Renegade Commando is priced at 1.59 lakhs (both, Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The Renegade Sport S is powered by a single cylinder, water-cooled engine developing 25 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, mated to a six-speed, synchronized mesh transmission. The engine specifications stand to remain the same for the Renegade Commando as well.
