UM Motorcycles unveiled their motorcycles in India at the 2014 Auto Expo. Two years later, with an aim to step foot in the Indian market, the US based bike maker launched their Renegade series in India at the 2016 Auto Expo. Following the launch at the Auto Expo, UM Motorcycles India has set up 25 dealerships across India, with 6 alone in Maharashtra. The company has missed a few states like West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on their dealership map. Currently UM Motorcycles India is accepting pre-orders against a booking amount of INR 5,000 through their website. The company has put up their Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S up for the taking.
Both the Renegade Commando and Sport S are powered by a 280 cc Single Cylinder, 4 Stroke, 4 valve, Liquid Cooled engine. The engine develops 24.8 hp of peak power at 8,500 rpm and max torque of 21.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The power is pushed to the rear wheel by a 6 speed transmission.
The Renegade Commando and Sport S are available in three colour options each – Black Shine, Green Matt and Grey Matt for the Commando, whereas the Sport S rolls out in Shinny Black, Young Orange and Young Red. The Renegade Sport S and Commando are priced at INR 1.49 Lakhs and INR 1.59 Lakhs (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi). Now that the dealerships have been setup for operations therefore we can expect the cruisers to roll out soon, very soon.
