UM Motorcycles – the Indian arm of the American motorcycle maker, UM International, LLC along with Lohia Auto has opened its third dealership in India in Gurugram today. To be called Bhagwati Motors, the new dealership is situated at Sohna Road, near Vatika Chowk in Badshahpur-Gurugram. Spread over an area of 3200 sq ft, the dealership facility has a showroom integrated with an after-sales service facility. Both the Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S models are now available for test rides at the dealership. The Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S are priced at INR1.59 lakhs and INR 1.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.

The Renegade Commando is a cruiser motorcycle powered by a single-cylinder, liquid cooled, carburettor fed engine displaces 279.5 cc, while producing 24.8 bhp @ 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 21.8 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. A six speed transmission reigns power. The motorcycle comes with wide handlebars, telescopic front suspension, dual, rear shock absorbers, and a mobile charging socket. It is available in four colours – Matte Grey, Matte Green, Shiny Red and Shiny Black. The Renegade Sport S model will also share the same engine as the Renegade Commando. These motorcycles have a fuel tank of 18 litres with a kerb weight of 172 kg.
UM International in alliance with the UP-based Lohia Auto has invested INR 250 crore for business expansion. Manufacturing is already underway at the Lohia Auto’s Kashipur facility in Uttarakhand which will also support the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Headquartered out of New Delhi in India, the company has started appointing dealers across India. With 45 dealers appointed already, including 5 of them in the Delhi NCR region alone, UM looks to open 50 dealerships across the country by the end of 2016. This distribution network will continue to expand taking in tier 2 and tier 3 cities and towns going forward. Bookings for the Renegade models had opened at the Auto Expo 2016, and the company is looking to shift 15,000 units in this financial year.
