TVS Motor to Launch Vehicle Every 3 Months

TVS Motor plans to unveil a new vehicle every three-four months. The increased frequency of launches will help increase its sales volumes and revenues.

As it faced questions about delayed launches of newer products, TVS Motor retorted by stating that they plan to launch a new vehicle every 3-4 months in the forthcoming time. Their launch windows are based on meeting quality and engineering standards, and hence the delays have occured. For example, the TVS Zest was scheduled to have a June launch, but it has been pushed to August. Similarly, the TVS Victor was about to see a September launch, but it has been postponed to the month of December. TVS Motor has planned the launch of the new Apache during the last quarter of this year.

A new product launch every 3-4 months is definitely what the Hosur-based automaker needs to scale up its operations. Such a move will help it to maintain product freshness, and attract more sales volumes and revenue. TVS Motor is definitely one of the automakers to watch out for, with their BMW alliance lending them a greater expertise on technical aspects. In return, BMW gains access to the low-cost manufacturing expertise of TVS. BMW, infact, has no product below the 650cc category.

The TVS Draken ( Shown above ) was present at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2014. It did provide a few hints about the direction in which the TVS-BMW alliance was forging ahead. While the Draken carried an exorbitant amount of technology, not all of them are expected to make it to the production version. The design language appears too radical, and will definitely be mellowed down to an extent.

The decision of TVS to launch a new product every 3-4 months comes at a time when it has pipped Bajaj to take the 3rd position in the two-wheeler sales volumes.
