We are all in the midst of unprecedented times as we navigate the rapidly-evolving situation of COVID-19. Manufacturers are trying hard to let their customers know that the brand is standing right by their side during this rather tough phase. Attractive financial schemes are being announced and to cater to the social distancing norms, new service methods are being deployed. TVS Motor Company is a customer-centric company, and they believe that it is their priority to minimise inconvenience to their valued customers during these challenging times.
TVS Motor Company has announced a service programme for its esteemed customers titled ‘Expert on Wheels’. Through this programme, periodic maintenance service will be provided to customers at their doorsteps. The programme will be available in over 300 dealerships across the country and help customers avail their service as per schedule.
To ensure customer safety at the dealerships, the company has directed the dealers to follow thorough sanitisation protocol and mandatory PPE suit for the staff. The dealers are also utilising thermal scanning and enabling digital payments to ensure minimum contact.
Through the lockdown, TVS Motor Company endeavoured that customer service helplines like a toll-free number, customer care email id and Road Side Assistance (RSA) continue to be accessible to all customers. The free service, warranty and AMC services in the duration of lockdown were also extended. The company attended breakdown vehicles at the residence of over 6000 customers during the lockdown. Free service and breakdown assistance were provided to over 2600 essential service providers such as Police and Medical Practitioners.
Recent price hikes
In other news, the round of price hikes by two-wheeler manufacturers isn’t coming to a halt as TVS Motor Company recently announced another price hike for the Jupiter gearless scooter. The BS6 updates have resulted in higher input costs and apparently, manufacturers are trying to pass on the additional costs to the customers. It isn’t the first time that the prices of BS6 Jupiter have increased as the company rolled out a price hike in the month of June as well. The TVS Motor Company has raised the prices of the BS6 Jupiter range in India by Rs 1,040. Back in June, the price hike was a shade over Rs 600, but this time around it is nearly double of that. The standard variant of the Jupiter now costs Rs 63,102, the ZX variant is priced at Rs 65,102, while the top-spec Classic variant will set you back by Rs 69,602.
It isn’t just the Jupiter which has received a price hike in recent times. The TVS Apache RR 310 is the flagship offering from the maker and is arguably one of the best motorcycles in its segment. The BS6 Apache RR 310 went on sale seven months ago and received a price hike of around INR 12,000 for the BS6 iteration. And recently, TVS rolled out the first price hike after the BS6 iteration was launched. The new ex-showroom (Delhi) price stands at INR 2.45 Lakh, which is INR 5k more than before.
