TVS Logistics appoints R. Shankar as CEO for India operations

TVS Logistics Services Limited, India’s leading 3rd party Logistics service provider, has today announced the appointment of Mr. R. Shankar, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from January 2013. Mr. Shankar, in his new role, will be responsible for managing the company’s India operations and will be entrusted with expansion of business verticals across India.

Shankar, the first CEO of Indian TVS Logistics Operations, will be based out of Chennai office and will be reporting to Mr. S. Ravichandran, Executive Director, TVS Logistics Services Limited. A graduate engineer with post graduation in Management, Shankar brings in over 28 years of executive leadership in Automobile and Engineering industry experience to the table.

Says Mr. S. Ravichandran, Executive Director, TVS Logistics Services Ltd., “We are happy to have Shankar on Board to head the business operations in India. His result oriented approach and rich experience in marketing will play a key role in further expanding our relationship with customers on all the service verticals we offer. Shankar, a member of All India Management Association has hands on experience in Business Development, Network management and sales, Marketing & Branding, Product planning, After Sales and Customer Care, Auto Financing and Corporate Affairs including legal and government affairs and administration.

Shankar began his career with Godrej and Boyce (A Consumer Durable and Engineering Company) and has worked with Eicher Group, Tata Motors and with Beiqi Foton (one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer based in China).
