TVS Akula production version

TVS Akula 310 rendered in production guise

TVS Akula 310 production version

While we painstakingly wait for TVS to come out with a more production friendly version of the Akula 310 concept, here’s a rendering that makes the wait..more painstaking. TVS has confirmed that the Akula will enter production, but not before 2017. Till then, this render has to suffice – gone is the bare, lacquered carbon-fiber finish, while track specific bits like the lightweight, race exhaust and the gyro cam at the back have also been given the miss. Instead, there’s a gloss black paint-job, a more sombre exhaust and a friendlier tail section with a registration plate holder. The render also adds headlamps, mirrors, and a tail lamp for road use.

With full carbon-fiber bodywork, a trellis frame cradling a race-spec engine with four valves and dual overhead cams, the TVS Akula 310 gave the average Indian motorcyclist hope. That 310 cc single cylinder engine is based on the BMW G310R’s motor, is liquid cooled and rated at 34 bhp and 21 Nm. Suspension, brakes and wheels are also shared with the Indo-German streetfighter, due in India soon. The TVS Akula 310 even took top honours as the best concept bike showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The number 33 up front commemorates 33 years of TVS racing.
